47361_1983_09_Shildon_A3_800dpi

            During 1982/83 I somewhat lost my “composition eye”. This is a case in point where I have yet again allowed the subject in the form of 47361 Wilton Endeavour on display at the works Open Day at BREL Shildon Works to fill up the frame far too much, 24th September 1983. 

Shildon Works closed nine months later at the end of June 1984 just over 150 years since it opened in 1833.

Locomotive History
47361 is from the batch of Class 47’s built without train heating for dedicated freight use and was built at the Brush Falcon works, Loughborough. It entered traffic in February 1966 as D1880 allocated to Tinsley MPD and was officially withdrawn thirty eight years later in August 2004. It was broken up broken up by Harry Needle Railroad Company at EMR Kingsbury during September 2004.
