"the grand old duke" - a photo on Flickriver

Inspired title from an impulsive visit to find the famous Duke of Portland Boathouse on Ullswater in Cumbria. It originally belonged to the 3rd Duke of Portland (1738-1809).

Also can you believe it - "it's a landscape!" now not my finest but I've been wondering where this place is for ages, so as I headed North up the M6 Motorway today I was delighted to find that this is only about a 10 minute detour from the M6!

However, conditions for the Lake District where erm normal! Windy and raining! Yes the type that gets you wet through very quickly, ooo that fine rain! So I had a little play down on the shore of the lake and well this is the best I could do! Had to post it as it felt good to get one in the bag for July - seeing that I got none for June!

Anyhow back to editing pictures from the weekends wedding that I shot with the Doc' aka Dru Dodd!

Cheers and go canny with the CC as I'm new to this game! I had lot's of problems with the rain on me filters and them bushes to the right caused havoc with me grads!
