The Fondry des Chiens is a sinkhole in the Viroin-Hermeton Natural Park. It is a large ravine-like pit with jagged rocky outcrops formed by washed-away limestone from which ferruginous, washed-in mineral was extracted for centuries.
Fondry des Chiens is located in the commune of Viroinval, borough of Nismes, in the Calestienne. The Fondry des Chiens is a doline or gouffre of 100 meters long and up to 20 meters deep. Such gouffres only occur in Belgium in the Viroin region.

Le Fondry des Chiens est un gouffre naturel situé sur les hauteurs et à l'est du village de Nismes dans la commune de Viroinval, en Calestienne (Belgique). Le site naturel, entre l'Eau noire et le Viroin et près de leur confluence, est une gorge formée par des milliers d'années d'érosions pluviales dans un sol très calcaire.
Une végétation rare et délicate s'est développée dans ce microcosme naturel.
Le site est classé 'de grand intérêt biologique' sous le nom de « le Tienne Sainte-Anne et le Fondry des Chiens ».
