House "Can Sebastià Soler" Vilanova i la Geltrú (Catalonia)

            Can Sebastià Soler, also known as Can Pahissa, is a monument to the municipality of Vilanova i la Geltrú (Garraf) protected as a cultural asset of local interest.

The promoter and owner of the house Sebastià Soler i Miró (also known as Can Pahissa), was clean of the masovers of the La Pallisa farmhouse, from here comes the name (deformed) of Can Pahissa. In 1877 he emigrated, together with his brother Richard, to South America, settle in Chile and devote himself to the wood business and then to the exploitation and export of nitrates, the merchant navy and the housing construction. All this gave him a great fortune. In 1916, after settling his business, Sebastià Soler moved to Vilanova, where he decided to build his tower, commissioning the project to the architect Josep Maria Miró i Guibernau in 1921, which inspired especially in the openings in the form of a fishmonger from Casa Pérez Samanillo in Barcelona.
