Weather forecast by active on the Sun

            _ABV3871 - Now call me old fashioned or cynical, but the view here might be worth say four million !
Sadly I could not pop up to the surface of the sun, to get some action, but the UK Space Weather Centre is to Monitor The Sun.

The Met Office has unveiled a dedicated Space Weather Forecasting Centre.
The £4.6m project, based at the organisation's headquarters in Exeter, will monitor the Sun's surface and atmosphere.
Magnetic fields, radiation, particles and matter spewed from the Sun can pose threats to modern infrastructure.
A severe event could disrupt GPS, satellite systems, radio communications and power grid.
Spacecraft and aircraft might also be damaged.
In 2011, the UK government placed space weather on the National Risk Register of Civil Emergencies. Me all for avoiding risk for sure, but seeing something 96 million miles away, em quite happy to look out the window and see if it is raining, currently our forecaster can only get today and tomorrow with some accuracy, just imagine the scare mongering they can do with this one !

Compton Bay voted in April as one of Britain’s top 15 beaches by Rough Guide’s Top 15 best UK beaches, now has another accolade being voted in the top 50 world beaches by the Sunday Times travel magazine.
Compton Bay lays on the south west of the Isle of Wight with waves from the English Channel pounding on the sand churning up milky froth and spitting salty spray up into your face. From the cliff tops you can watch surfer dudes do their thing or just view Freshwater and Tennyson down in the distance as the island curves around this area of outstanding beauty into the needles. The two mile stretch of coast is a great place for fossil hunting and paragliding.
The beach and cliffs in the changing light of the day provides a spectacular geological showcase of changing colours.
