Crater Lake National Park Panorama. The Park had reopened while we were in Oregon so we decided to re-route. I knew Crater Lake was beautiful in pictures but had no idea the treat I had in store for me.

The first day we arrived at Crater Lake RV Resort which was about the closest thing but still 40 minutes out from the lake itself. The first day we decided just to go check it out real quick for sunset the next day and check out a waterfall afterward. I realized I wasn't that good on gas but I had enough to make it to the lake and to a gas station I plotted on our course. I was wrong, dead wrong. I didn't realize that on the way was a massive hill climb in a 21-foot sprinter van and ended up guzzling much more gas than intended. By the time we made it to Crater Lake, we had 5 miles left in the tank and a 40-minute drive to the nearest gas station. We kinda freaked out a little because there are no people in sight and no cell service. We both looked at each other and kinda just mutually realized that we were in trouble and walking might be somewhere in the near future. We knew we would be going downhill for at least 5 miles so I put her in neutral and coasted until there was no other option. Next, I tried to keep the RPM's as low as possible while maintaining speed once on flat land and that got us pretty far. We still expected to walk a couple miles but ended up coasting right on into a better situation. Finally, we took our deep breaths once full again and trotted back off. By the time we made it back up, a clearing storm made for some very beautiful and dramatic light!

This is the next morning. Just at dawn. Unfortunately, the light didn't move under the clouds at all!
