Gallier Hall, New Orleans - a photo on Flickriver

            Gallier Hall was constructed from 1845-1853.  It served as City Hall until 1957.  It was the site of the city's surrender during the Civil War and where Confederate President Jefferson Davis laid in state. Louis Armstrong's  first marriage took place here. Currently, it functions as a reception hall,  as the site for mayoral inaugurations and as a reviewing stand where city dignitaries toast Mardi Gras parade royalty.
