            Boats stranded in the mud at low tide in Chichester Harbour - a twice daily occurrence. In the background are the hills of the South Downs, England's newest National Park which became fully operational in 2011.

Chichester Harbour has been designated by the Government as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty {AONB} and a Site of Special Scientific Interest {SSSI} in respect of nature conservation.
