Zumwalt Meadow, Kings Canyon N.P. - a photo on Flickriver

            Near the end of the road on Kings Canyon Road is a small parking area with a trailhead to this meadow.  The meadow is next to the Kings River and the trail is pretty level.  The problem was when I got to where the boardwalk starts to the meadow, there was caution tape blocking the trail.  Apparently, last year's heavy snowfall took its toll on the boardwalk and washed part of it away.  

Well, I walked up the trail that follows the granite wall next to the meadow, but I couldn't see the meadow.  I asked a couple of hikers coming from the other direction if you ever get a view of the meadow and they said no.  So, I walked back to the boardwalk and decided to be sneaky.

Another young couple was walking back from the area that was blocked by the caution tape and I followed their lead.  I lifted up the caution tape and walked up to where I could get a view of the meadow.  I told them I was going to blame them if I got caught.  I didn't and got this amazing view of the meadow.  Sometimes it pays to be sneaky.
