A Sheep's Tale... (1 of 2) - a photo on Flickriver

I spent several days on two separate trips searching for Desert Bighorn Sheep at Valley of Fire State Park, then Lake Mead National Recreational Area. I'd been given leads, but none panned out. You know... the usual... "you just missed them." Or, "those hikers stumbled on some an hour ago, but didn't have a camera" (me listening to this with backpack, camera and a lens getting heavier by the minute).

Fast forward to today. I thought to revisit some of those photos, maybe find one Flickr-worthy. I decided this one was pretty much ready to go SOOC... Valley of Fire is spectacularly photogenic, especially approaching sunset in winter... but enlarged the frame to make sure there weren't any errant artifacts and there, suddenly, in my view was... a Bighorn Sheep!

These days, it doesn't take much to make me happy. But, next time...
