Brambling (Fringilla montifringilla) ♀

            Taken in South Derbyshire.

I've been watching this site in late winter early spring since retiring in July 2012, and always look forward to watching these super winter visiting finches. It was not possible to visit in 2019 and 2020 due to COVID restrictions.
Normally you are treated to a quick visit then off for an hour or so before returning if your lucky  and with females spending most of there time on the ground on their visits.
Today started like that female wise anyway,  but no male. 
When the male decided to make an appearance we were treated for to a fairly long stay and mostly showing well, and the female decided to join in leaving the ground and showing equally well in the trees and shrubs.

I had so many shots to choose from, so forgive my indulgence, but I've missed them.
