Purple-Rumped Sunbird (F) - a photo on Flickriver

            These birds at less than 10 centimetres are tiny and active and so never easy to capture. The females, as seen here, have a white throat followed by yellowish breast. The upperside being olive or brownish. This species is found in a variety of habitats with trees, including scrub and cultivation and is usually absent from dense forest. They pollinate the flowers of many plant species.
