Blue Ear Kingfisher: Winter Visitor - a photo on Flickriver

            Another gorgeous winter visitor that I managed to grab some shots off. Challenging to take pics of him as he loves hiding in the dark thick scrubs. I had a touch time trying to AF him even with my A9.
Come to think of it life is tough for these tiny winter visitors making such long hazardous journey all the way here. There were reports that they flew into glass sliding doors of high rise building. We actually witness a white water hen pecking a tiny Blackback Kingfisher and the poor thing fell into the shallow water and got his beak stuck in the muddy shallow water. He could have drown if not for one photographer who save his life and he was sent to our Nature Park folks to nature him back to health.
