The Wave - a photo on Flickriver

The Wave

            The Wave” is a residential building in the city centre of Almere, in The Netherlands. The building was completed in 2004. It was designed by architect René van Zuuk and is part of Citymall Almere. The complex is situated near the edge of the Weerwater water works.

As the name suggests, the building has a wave-shaped facade on the south side, fitted with silver-coloured aluminium panels (ALCOA RT-62 if you might be interested DIY purposes) produced by Kolf & Molijn. All these panels are different to any other in this facades. The panels have a unique angle and are also vertically offset from plumb at a different angle; it all underlines the scaly texture.

The Wave houses 42 spacious apartments in 4 different types. The apartments are spread over 6 floors and slide out of the facade like open matchboxes. Seen from the waterfront, the outward bulge or swell is strongest and casts a shadow in the form of a wave on the façade surface. The architect realized a sturdy shape with a horizontal and vertical silhouette, depending from the angle you look. I this case vertically. 

Technical stuff
This is a HRD consisting of 3 photo; +2, 0 and -2; resulting in 200ISO, -2/3, f8, 1/340-1/80-1/400 and at 28,3 mils.
The HDR merge was done with Aurora HDR 2018. Further post-production was done in Lightroom using serval tools for balancing the lighting due to the position of the sun (at 15.30 CET). Finally, I added some copyright signs (in PS). The latter is, alas, there to stay due to the fact that my photos were frequently copied. So, don't bother commenting on that.
