Paradise Lost

A metal palm tree stands at the center of the kiddie play area at the abandoned Jungle Surf Water Park in Galveston, Texas. Closed since 2005, Hurricane Ike surely didn't help any prospects for re-opening this tiny water park. Several sections of the large water slides appeared to be missing, and the place as a whole is in a terrible shambles. At the top of the hill, just to the right of the metal palm you can see two tiny thatch umbrellas, marking the top of the big water slide.

Just after twilight, with a 1/2 moon and a sodium glow from Galveston, Texas City and Houston, natural strobe on palm and CTO-gelled X2000 on the background.
