            Blue eyes have long been romanticised in popular culture and media, and actors with such traits might get more attention due to the natural human tendency to be drawn to features that are less common—the “rarity” factor. Blue eyes are relatively rare compared to other eye colors, so they can stand out more on camera.

Some actors and directors resort to coloured contact lenses or "re-tinting" in the films post production.

Blue eyes are the second most common eye colour. About 8 to 10% of the world's population has blue eyes, but in the U.S. the percentage is higher and about 25% of people have blue eyes. Brown eyes are the world's most common eye colour and about 70% of the world's population have brown eyes.

Green is the rarest. It shows up in about 9% of Americans but only 2% of the world's population.
