Side House Farm, Great Langdale, in the Lake District National Park, Cumbria, UK

Looking down (280 m vertically, ~1.17 km horizontally) on a 'typical' Lakeland sheep farm, from Mark Gate, on the path down from Loft Crag towards New Dungeon Ghyll.

The farm track at the left, leading from the valley road (B5343, if anyone's counting; the only road up Great Langdale, anyway) opposite the main New Dungeon Ghyll car park, is also the route of the Cumbria Way, which turns left beyond the farmyard, passing behind the tall conifers. For those observing the recommended division of the 112 km footpath into ~20 km daily sections, this is the very end of Day Two.
