Platt loaned portraits - a photo on Flickriver

*  Portrait of Jesse Pratt (1751-1843) of Deep River, CT.  Born Dec. 7th 1751, died Nov. 30th 1843. One of Deep River's pioneer settlers, the Cape Cod style house he built in 1775 remains at 135 Kelsey Hill Road, Deep River.  He was the Grandfather of Joseph Curtis Platt, Sr. and the Great Great Grandfather of Philip Platt (our loaner’s father).

* Catherine Serena Scranton Platt (1822-1887).  She was the daughter of Jonathan Scranton and the wife of Joseph Curtis Platt.

* Col. Ichabod Lee Scranton.  He owned the Allis-Bushnell house for a short time in 1825 when he sold it to Nathan Bushnell.  Ichabod was a sailing master, ship builder and merchant.

*  Joseph Curtis Platt, merchant, Real Estate, Town Planner, banker and author.  He moved to Slocum Hollow (Scranton, PA) in 1846 and authored "Early History of Scranton".  He married Catherine Serena Scranton in 1844.
