Finally I reach the half way point in my 100 Strangers challenge!

This is Liam Collins, world gold medal champion in 400m hurdles, taking the crown at the age of 35 in Daegu, South Korea. Liam was performing his other act on the street, as stunt hurdler. This sees him hurdling through a spiky hurdle and one of fire in rapid succession while blindfolded. He performs this street act to fund his athletics program after his sports funding had stopped. I introduced myself to Liam earlier in the day having nailed a shot of him leaping through fire, a shot I will post here some time, and decided to return later for a portrait when he wasn't quite so busy. I interrupted Liam packing up for the day for a couple of portrait shots and, with all of his equipment nearby, took the shots in-situ.

Liam loves the shots that I took of him and was happy to be a part of my 100 Strangers project.
I wish Liam all of the very best of success in his hurdling future and am very grateful for the time he took for a few posed portraits. A really nice guy to talk with and a pleasure to meet. Thanks Liam!
