            More Sea lettuce and the milky way!

We went to the Oregon coast in September 2022 to capture as many milky way images as we could....never an easy task given the coastal weather. We timed the trip around the moon phase, making sure we would have dark skies if we had clear nights. The tides were not part of the equation, but having a low tide at this particular spot gave me a chance at some unique foregrounds. The green color comes from "Sea lettuce". It's very pretty but incredibly slippery. It's similar to an algae and seaweed. I captured the foreground just as the last bits of sunlight illuminated the area before full sunset. Since the tide was now going to be coming in, I had to step back about 75 yards so I would not drown!!! I was able to keep my foreground in the exact same position to shoot the milky way, although by the time the milky way was fully visible, the ocean had completely covered my foreground. I did shoot a wider sky image at 24mm. I then blended my foreground and sky images into one final image that you see here.
