Red Kite - a photo on Flickriver

Red Kite

            On the Ebor Way between Eccup & Harewood - 22nd June 2014. Taken on a sunny afternoon walk. We had seen several of these beauties soaring high on the thermals but too far away to get anything but a distant shot. After a rest at the top of Harewood we walked back down through the meadow. As approached the tree line two magnificent Kites took to the air. They flew out towards the Harewood Estate and seemed to be going out of range when suddenly this one banked round and flew directly towards us.
