Autumn Brilliance - a photo on Flickriver

Autumn Brilliance

            Spectacular colors from last fall. Hoping this season will get close to matching those colors!

The sheer vividness of the colors in the afternoon light made this a challenge to work with - so many beautiful parts of the image! I tried several angles and compositions, but liked this one best, then did a lot of shaping in post. 

This was so colorful that I had to ratchet things back a lot in most areas of the capture to help with the Eyeflow. Lumenzia really helped with this one. Lots of dodge and burn in many areas. Brought the color of the sky back with a solid color layer + mask. Getting some separation of the leaves in the middle was difficult.
