Night at Crowley Lake - a photo on Flickriver

            Most of this should be underwater, but due to 4 years of drought water levels are extremely low in the Eastern Sierra Nevada of California. When I realized most of this was no longer under water I came up with the idea for this image. I used my headlamp and spotlight to light up the rock columns carved out of the lake bank by previously higher water levels. Standing on what should be at lake bottom looking up at the stars is a stark reminder of how delicate this planet really is.
