Gov Woodruff House ruin - a photo on Flickriver

According to the Woodruff Farm Advisory Committee Report (cms5.revize.com/revize/guilfordct/Document_Center/Resourc...), in 1905 "Governor Woodruff built an Adirondack-style house on the property that was utilized as a summer home". After occupancy by various owners, in 1986 the house was converted into additional apartments. The house was destroyed by fire in 2000, leaving only the foundation and the chimney. Its ruin, across the street from the Henry Whitfield House State Museum, is even more poignant in the moonlight. The Town purchased the property in 2003.
