District Administration - Limassol, Cyprus

The District Administration Building in the heart of Limassol, in Cyprus.

Built in the early part of the 20th century, while the island was a Crown Colony prior to the 1960 establishment of the Republic of Cyprus, this landmark building is typical of the era, blending British colonial architecture, seen across the Commonwealth from India to the Bahamas, while also incorporating plenty of Greek Cypriot architectural elements for a touch of local flavor.

Only minutes form the Old City and the Limassol Castle and the new majestic marina, this once decaying part of the city has been restored to a hip neighborhood thanks to the Cyprus Technological University now located nearby.

The Student hangouts and lively coffee shops and bars that followed once the University was relocated here, have now turned a a once bleak and decaying part of the city into a cool, hip area to hang out throughout the day and into the early morning hours.
