San Martiño Pinario - Santiago - a photo on Flickriver

            Founded by a group of Benedictines who shortly after the discovery of the Apostle's remains settled in the place called Pignario, close to the Corticella chapel, where they celebrated their services. The greatest development begins when in 1494 it becomes dependent on the Benedictine congregation of Valladolid. From here they will achieve the wealth that will allow them to pay for the imposing works of the church, which constitutes, together with the Cathedral, the most valuable ensemble of Galician baroque.
