PARIGI. L'OPERA GARNIER. - a photo on Flickriver

Lo storico teatro dell’Opera di Parigi, fu realizzato su progetto di C. Garnier tra il 1860 e il 1875, in uno stile eclettico da lui stesso battezzato “Napoleone III”. Il teatro si erge maestoso nella piazza omonima e propone soprattutto balletti da quando è stato costruito un nuovo teatro a Bastille, dove si tengono la gran parte degli spettacoli canori. Il monumento è visitabile e quando non sono in corso le prove si può vedere anche la sala del teatro con il bel dipinto di Chagall. Inoltre, nell’edificio è stato realizzato anche un museo, con riproduzioni di scenografie teatrali del XIX secolo e pitture dedicate al balletto, e una biblioteca con opere generali sul teatro e la danza e con spartiti musicali.
