            DOUBLE RAINBOW.

Gli arcobaleni si formano quando i raggi del Sole attraversano la miriade di goccioline d'acqua sospese nell'aria dopo un temporale (o vicino a una cascata) e appaiono come uno spettro di luce quasi continua, con le tradizionali "sette bande" colorate. 
Due persone non vedono mai lo stesso arcobaleno. Neanche assistendo allo stesso spettacolo fianco a fianco voi e la vostra dolce metà osserverete il medesimo fenomeno. In primo luogo, perché le gocce d'acqua che lo generano sono in costante movimento; poi, perché l'arcobaleno è un arco di cerchio il cui centro si trova sulla linea ipotetica che congiunge il Sole agli occhi dell'osservatore. E gli occhi di due persone non possono occupare la stessa posizione nello stesso momento. 
Non potrai mai distinguere tutti i colori di un arcobaleno. Anche se la teoria "classica" prevede solo 7 colori (rosso, arancione, giallo, verde, blu, indaco e violetto) ogni arcobaleno è di fatto costituito da uno spettro continuo di colori. I nostri occhi ne potrebbero percepire circa un milione, ma tutte queste sfumature si fondono in 7 colori principali quando ne vediamo uno.
