Eastern Milksnake (Lampropeltis triangulum)

Temperatures began to fall into the 40's at night a few days prior to this day, and on outings around then I noticed numerous snake sheds near ledges and under rocks. On this particular mostly sunny day, this large milksnake was discovered under a big, flat rock on a south facing dolomite glade. The rock was near the edge of where the sun was shining. The snake was warm upon capture and did not want to sit still.
