Brescia Old Cathedral I - a photo on Flickriver

(Italian: Duomo Vecchio) The Old Cathedral, also known as La Rotonda, is one of the most important examples of a Romanesque round church in Italy. The earliest documents state that construction of the cathedral started around the year 1100. The main structure was built atop ruins of the earlier Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. Under the presbytery you have access to the crypt which belongs to the first basilica.
