CWG286 Cumbria Classic Coaches named the Klipper

            Leyland Tiger PS1 with Alexander bodywork in Ravenstonedale Cumbria. New to Alexander (Northern) Bluebird in 1949 as fleet number PA184.
All over bar the shouting. Wednesday 1st October and the shutters were brought down on Cumbria Classic Coaches operations after around 28-years of operation by the Hamer family. With a base at Bowber Head in Ravenstonedale, their small fleet of heritage and modern buses and coaches have graced the highways and byways of the surrounding counties and sometimes further afield. Four of the remaining fleet ventured out on a final run over route 572 to Barnard Castle along with one Bristol LD decker, two Leyland saloons and a modern 2005 Scania . With around 160 passengers, some of whom had been ferried in from Shap and Tebay, in somewhat inclement weather it was a day of mixed emotions albeit a great atmosphere to the end of an era.
