Le pont de la rivière Tonlé - a photo on Flickriver

            Kompong Chhnang (Cambodge) - Pour trouver ce pont en bambou, il faut s’aventurer dans un quartier aux allures d’un bidonville sur pilotis. Les habitants sont pour la plupart des familles de pêcheurs qui vivent de presque rien. Leurs pirogues sont leur seule richesse. 
J’ai vu plusieurs Cambodgiens franchir le pont avec leurs motocyclettes. Mon scooter étant un véhicule de location, je n’ai pas voulu prendre le risque, ne faisant pas confiance à la stabilité de cette construction artisanale. J’ai préféré faire un grand détour. Je l’ai emprunté, pour photographier le fleuve, mais à pied. Même dans ces conditions, mieux vaut regarder où l’on met les pieds et se tenir fermement à la rambarde.

Kompong Chhnang (Cambodia) - To find this bamboo bridge, you have to venture into a neighborhood that looks like a slum on stilts. The inhabitants for the most part are families of fishermen who live on almost nothing. Their pirogues are their only wealth.
I saw several Cambodians cross it with their motorcycles. My scooter being a rental vehicle, I didn't want to take the risk, not trusting the stability of this artisanal bridge. I preferred to take a long detour. I took it, but on foot, to photograph the river. But even in these conditions, it is better to watch where you put your feet and to hold firmly to the railing.
