Lifeguard Ruggels takes a break... - a photo on Flickriver

            Sure, after running round and round the swimming pool in the hot Florida sun making sure my mistress Maryann is safe, while floating and thrashing with her floppy sun hat on is not exactly without pressure on me. But it is great fun. Now she's reading a magazine by the table and sipping a cool drink....Why do they call us 'pets'? Does she and the camera dude realize that my Great, Great, Great and so on, Grand dad was Robert Burns' side-kick? And why does she always hug me so tightly until I lick her face a few times begging for mercy? 
    Oh well. I have my eye on her now and she is getting to be a habit with me. Maybe tonight she'll give me a bite or two of her New York Strip. I am a good pet you know. ---- Ruggels
