Wadi Sinaq - Oman

            A wadi is a valley, ravine, or channel that is usually dry except in the rainy season. Wadi Sinaq however has water year round and reaches the Arabian sea although its outflow is blocked by a sand bank. It is located in spectular scenery in Oman's Jabal Samhan, Dhofar province, and also known as Wadi Senaq and Khor Senaq. A Khor is a wadi that is closed by a sand bank when it enters the sea.

It is a beautiful place to visit although many visitors leave a large amount of rubbish spoiling the surroundings. Unfortunately this seems the case in many places in Oman (and elsewhere). It would be good if the amount of plastic we use would be severely restricted.
