Stadtmarkt Augsburg - a photo on Flickriver

            The City Market in my hometown Augsburg

This is a 10,000 m² food market with outdoor fruit and vegetable stalls and two beautiful market halls, the Meat Hall with local butchers' outlets and the Victuals Hall with foreign products.

I think the next time I come to Augsburg I should take photos inside these halls. The prices there are also much more affordable than at such vegetable stands. Tomatoes at prices between €6.80 and €9.80! They are obviously traded here as luxury goods. No normal wage earner can afford to buy vegetables for their daily needs here, in contrast to the markets in my adopted home Vienna, where tomatoes are almost two thirds cheaper.
