Lough Akeen [Explored] - a photo on Flickriver

            A small lake, situated at the tip of the Irish Sheep's Head Peninsula, called Lough Akeen. We walked along it on both sides while following the Sheep's Head Way. The lighthouse I posted earlier on is a little further on the left (but out of view anyway as it's deeper down, on the rocks). 
Behind the lake you can see Bantry Bay and in the distance the Beara peninsula with some of its mountains.
Though it was a little cloudy, it stayed dry and it was a very nice walk. [Explored on 14 June 2025, #78]
