The Great American Solar Eclipse, August 21, 2017

            ~ Eclipse ~

The moment of Totality during the long-awaited solar eclipse of 2017!

Living in South Carolina, I was fortunate enough to be right in the epicenter of the solar eclipse.

Watching the scene unfold was more incredible than I anticipated, and the moment where the moon enveloped the sun was magical!

The scene went quiet, and the world turned into a dark blue, metallic hue, more surreal than everyday twilight scenes.

I feel blessed to have been able to witness this moment, and to have captured a memory of this long-awaited day.

I liked this shot the best, as you could just make out Jupiter (I believe it is!) as a white dot in the black sky, contrasting the violent scene of the moon eclipsing the sun.
