Black 8 approaching Towthorpe - a photo on Flickriver

            After my recent shot at this location, I realised I hadn't been here for a while.

So here are two shots (1/2) from my previous time here, both pre-dating my fickr membership. Both were taken within a couple of days of each other

Here Ex LMS Stanier 8F 2-8-0 48151 charges out of Haxby past Towthorpe on the branch line to Scarborough at the head of the Scarborough Spa Express (SSE).

The Stanier workhorse was rostered on the Scarborough Spa Expresses that Summer.

With only 8 carriages in tow this was one of the lighter loads that season.
