Known as Floating Bungalows, these authentic Thai raft houses are secluded and serene. Staying in a floating bungalow is a great way to commune with the abundance of the National Park of Khao Sok. Khao Sok National Park in Southern Thailand is an amazing place. It is covered by the oldest evergreen rainforest in the world, huge limestone mountains shooting straight up in the air, deep valleys, breathtaking lakes, exciting caves, wild animals and much more. Prai Wan raft house is located at the norther most tip of Klong Long, it boasts beautiful surroundings and charming bamboo huts. Prai Wan raft house was one of the first on the lake. So serene is this corner of the Cheow Lan Lake that it is often visited by wildlife. It's recommend that you make use of the free kayaks to explore the area behind the floating bungalows as it is a favorite spot for local primates; Langurs monkeys. The Khao Sok often referred to as the wettest spot in Thailand, the glorious lowland jungle is teaming with life of immense biodiversity and the curious colors of the many indigenous creatures, the park offers a multitude of well-worn dirt trails to explore. Rainy season begins in late April and lasts until December, with the heaviest rains between May and July, then October and November. But don’t let that stop you! The rain is often a welcome respite to the tropical heat. Not to mention the fact that … it is the RAINforest!,

Prai Wan raft houses can only be reached by an one hour trip by boat. There are no roads, there is no internet and there isn't even a telephone network. The aggregate delivers voltage from 19:00 to 21:30. It's located middle of Khao Sok National Park. A place where the rhythm of jungle takes you higher. Gibbons sing their morning song, a glimpse of wildlife. What to expect during Thailand's Rainy Season - June to October: At least torrential rains that last 30 minutes to 2 hours, but we don't let the rain spoil our holiday! After the thunder clouds moved away we took the chance to swim in cool rain combined with warm lake water, water temperatures range between 27°C to 29°C. Torrential rain drops bounced hard on lake. The view was spectacular. My camera all wrapped up in a plastic bag and made this photo. Samantha jumps into the warm water ;-).

Khao Sok เขาสก is een groot nationaal park, gelegen in Thailand in de provincie Surat Thani. Het heeft een oppervlakte van 739 km². In het park bevindt zich naast oerbos, wat een overblijfsel is van een regenwoud dat ouder en diverser is dan het Amazoneregenwoud, ook het stuwmeer afgedamd door de Ratchapraphadam. Het is één van de mooiste nationale parken van Thailand. met een eeuwenoud regenwoud met watervallen, kalksteenformaties die meer dan 900 meter de lucht in schieten, een groot meer met honderden kleine eilandjes, grotten, prachtige tropische planten en een grote variëteit aan wildlife waaronder de Aziatische olifant, luipaarden, sambars, bantengs, tapirs, dwergherten, cobra's, pythons en verscheidene soorten reptielen, apen en 311 soorten vogels. Met een beetje geluk vind je hier ook nog de wilde lotus Rafflesia kerri Meyer of in het Thais bua phút, de grootste bloem ter wereld. Volledig volgroeide bloemen halen de 90 centimeter en leven in de wortels van lianen. Onze bootman brengt ons diep in het park naar Prai Wan raft house, een bamboo hutje op het water. Een plaats zonder internet en zelfs geen telefoon meer. Een unieke en onvergetelijke ervaring om hier in de Thaise Jungle te overnachten: ’s ochtends kun je vanuit de accommodatie de jungle horen ontwaken! Met name Gibbons maken een prachtig geluid. Wat te verwachten van het regenseizoen in Thailand - juni tot oktober: af en toe een flinke tropische regenbuien van 30 minuten tot 2 uur. maar we laten onze vakantie niet verpesten door regen. Nadat het gedonder was af gelopen sprongen we lekker in het warme water, altijd altijd tussen 27°C tot 29°C met de frisse kletsende regen op ons hoofd. Het uitzicht was spectaculair. Ik had mijn camera verpakt in een plastic zak en maakte deze foto. Samantha springt in het warme water!
