... naked nikon ... - a photo on Flickriver

            The F-401 (N4004 US market) first appeared in the shops in 1987. It was made for the amateur market. This is evident from the fairly thin plastic body (which cracks easily) and the limited, although quite adequate feature set. It has the usual four exposure modes - program, shutter priority, aperture priority, and manual.
The viewfinder displays some basic information, including focus set, the electronic equivalent of match-needle light meter indicators, and a flash ready signal.... All of it not needed anymore, as I dissected it 😄

This Nikon N4004 had a defunct "Decision Master System" ... Oh well! at least I got a nice "old" AF Nikkor 35-70mm lens out of it for my Fujifilm Finepix S2 Pro. 😄
