Mohave Rattlesnake

            Mohave Rattlesnake Found and photographed at night in Nevada. My first snake of 2016. This particular animal was much browner in coloration than I've ever seen before. These rattlesnakes are probably the most dangerous rattlesnakes in the western US due to the following factors:
 They tendto be more agressive than most other rattlesnakes.
Their venom is both neurotoxic and hemotoxic.
They have a longer strike distance per body length than other rattlesnakes. Their entire body can sometimes leave the ground when they strike upward in a springlike movement.
