La Alberca es un municipio y localidad española de la provincia de Salamanca, en la comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León. Se integra dentro de la comarca de la Sierra de Francia.
El nombre de La Alberca procede de la palabra hebrea "bereka", combinada con el artículo árabe "al", el nombre Al-Bereka significa lugar de aguas.
