The Road To Diabaig - a photo on Flickriver

            Having stopped to check out a couple of possible sunset locations near to Lochcarron we continued on towards Torridon.  We had decided to take the (scary!) road to Diabaig, again primarily to scout out a sunset spot but also to make a planned stop at a small lochan that Iain knew of.  Loch an t-Sithein sits out of view, a couple of hundred feet above the road.  Having made the fairly steep ascent we both realised the  potential of where we were, with stunning views to the south and west.  Having shot a few images south(which had taken the best part of an hour)  we had a decision to make.  It was still well over another hour until sunset and it was bitterly cold in a biting wind.  I did not wish to descend back to the car and then have to re-climb the hill so we decided to find some shelter and sit it out.  This was our reward: a quite beautiful sunset looking from our elevated position across Lochs (in order) Diabaigas Airde, a'Mhullaich, Diabaig and Torridon.  It is just possible to see the tip of Raasay and more prominent, the NE coast of Skye in the distance.
