Variegated Flycatcher (Empidonomus varius)

This flycatcher species has a normal range entirely in South America. I photographed this bird in the wild in Brooklin, Ontario, Canada. This is only the seventh sighting of this species north of Mexico and only the second sighting of the bird ever in Canada. We have had very strong winds from the south recently and I can only guess that it got caught in the jet stream. It is a tropical bird and will not do well in our impending snowy winter.
