The Famous San Francisco Skyline - a photo on Flickriver

Last Thursday morning, we took the ferry from Vallejo down to San Francisco where I attended a two-day business meeting at the downtown facility of San Francisco State University. The skyline seemed to rise up out of the San Francisco Bay as the ferry was headed towards its destination--the Ferry Terminal Building at the end of Market Street. It had been raining as we passed just east of Angel Island, which can be seen jutting out in the foreground. Alcatraz Island, the historical penitentiary, is hidden behind Angel Island in this photo. The end of the Bay Bridge can be seen in on the left-hand side which connects San Francisco and Oakland, California. I shot this from the front of the ferry cabin, holding my wife's point-and-shoot camera, the Panasonic ZS7, close to the forward-looking window. (P1150355a)

By the way, I often use the free service of www.picnik.com to do some post processing. I was sad to learn that Picnik is moving its photo editing tools to Google+. Until their last day of April 19, 2012, they have opened up the premium options so that anyone may use them. In this photo, I used the mirror framing (which has been a premium option).
