second chance | cincinnati, oh - a photo on Flickriver

This was taken at Union Terminal in Cincinnati, Ohio. I shot this location earlier this year, but I got the chance to return to the spot last week, this time equipped with my tripod AND a much wider-angle camera/lens setup. This is a two-shot vertorama. I took two landscape oriented shots and stitched them together. I'm really pleased with the way this turned out. It's much better than any of the shots I got the first time around. I have another (slightly different) version of this shot at 500px (link), but this is the version I'm happiest with.

I think these past 10 days may be the single longest period I've gone in the past year without uploading something to Flickr (which also means I wasn't commenting much on other people's postings...sorry). It turns out that processing photos is a bit of a solitary task for me, and I don't really like to do it with distractions or time limits in the mix. So being on vacation while at the same time trying to spend time with family AND telecommute to work really meant no processing. I did get to do a lot of shooting, though. Apparently my environmental requirements for that are much lower :)

I hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving had a great one, and that you aren't going TOO crazy with holiday gift shopping. Remember that it's more about the thought and gesture of giving than the gift itself. I try to remember that in order to stay sane because it's more in line with the holiday spirit than -- for instance -- stabbing someone at Wal-Mart on Black Friday :)
