Tower Bridge and City Hall - a photo on Flickriver

Tower Bridge takes its name from its proximity to the Tower of London. The bridge was opened in 1894 and is still raised approximately 1000 times per year to allow river traffic to pass.

City Hall, designed by Norman Foster, opened in 2002. The shape of the building is intended to reduce its surface area to improve energy efficiency.
