Road Trip en Islande - Jour 14 - 1er juillet 2020.
# Et voila la dernière journée je quitte la péninsule des Snæfellnes pour une étape vers la cascade de Barnafoss .
# Barnafoss est une cascade d'Islande. Cette chute d'eau se trouve en amont des cascades Hraunfossar, sur la rivière Hvítá dans la région du champ de lave Hallmundarhraun.
# Barnafoss signifie la chute des enfants, ce nom provient d'une histoire locale : le jour de Noël, les enfants de la famille Hraunsás étaient restés seuls chez eux pendant que leurs parents se rendaient à la messe. Les enfants s'en furent jouer sur l'arche de pierre qui enjambait la rivière, tombèrent dans la chute et se noyèrent. Apprenant l'accident, la mère fit alors abattre ce pont naturel.
La rivière à cet endroit a la particularité de passer sous une arche de pierre qui se situe juste au niveau de l'eau, formant ainsi de puissants remous.(Wikipédia)
# Une suite de cascade qui vaut le déplacement ce qui est étonnant c'est que l'eau sort de la falaise sans la voir au dessus de celle-ci .

# And here is the last day I leave the Snæfellnes peninsula for a stopover towards the Barnafoss waterfall.
# Barnafoss is a waterfall in Iceland. This waterfall is located upstream of the Hraunfossar Waterfalls on the Hvítá River in the Hallmundarhraun Lava Field area.
# Barnafoss means the fall of children, this name comes from a local story: on Christmas Day, the children of the Hraunsás family were left alone at home while their parents went to mass. The children went to play on the stone arch which spanned the river, fell into the waterfall and drowned. Learning of the accident, the mother then had this natural bridge cut down.
The river at this place has the particularity of passing under a stone arch which is located just at the level of the water, thus forming powerful eddies.(Wikipedia)
