Former Stanford-Hatchett (multiple ghost signs) building - Lexington, Tennessee

Formerly located across the street from the Henderson County Courthouse, this great old building has been many things over the years...the old Masonic Lodge, the Lexington Gazette, the Princess Theatre, Stanford-Hatchett Livery/Feed Store/Stable, and most recently the Goshen Thrift Store. Some amazing old ghost signs also existed on the east side of the building including the Princess Theater, Double Cola - Grapette, Sloans Linament, a couple of more faded or painted over sections for Grove's and Bluebird, and what appears to be a vintage Model T Convertible. Unfortunately, a little less than a year after I took this photograph, this building (and the whole block) was torn down and left as a vacant lot. Not sure if something has been built in the last few years but this is the kind of destruction of history across Tennessee that breaks my heart. These court square areas were the heartbeat of all the small town across this state and many others and should not be torn down for the sake of progress...

Image was taken during my trek to photograph all 95 county courthouses across my home state of Tennessee...now revisiting in order that the courthouses were photographed!

Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.
