Everything's Gone Green - a photo on Flickriver

It's not very often I get to use my favourite bands' (New Order) song titles for my images so I've unashamedly used one for this image, as, well it's fits perfectly...

Everything had indeed gone green, The Northern Lights were exceptionally vivid this evening in Norway

At the time of this image it was well advanced (perhaps an hour or so) and I had decided to experiment more with the camera settings to get some different results from the 4-6 second exposures I had been taking.

This one was shot at the native ISO of 100 and still recorded an extremely vivid Aurora but instead of the sharp twisty lines this dragged it across the sky with the longer exposure time, also a little bit of cloud had started to appear in the sky which wasn't instantly visible at the time but showed up well on one of the images, a few minutes later it seemed like the cloud appeared to be engulfing or actually 'eating' the green Aurora which was bursting out of the cloud resulting in this completely bizarre image happening over the sea and mountains below, magical.
